For NGV’s Friday Nights: Pharaoh, this concept reimagines ancient Egypt through a visual identity built around the motif of golden sand dust, symbolising the sweep of time, Egyptian royalty, and desert landscapes. Inspired by the drifting sands across pyramids and ancient tombs, the dust flows dynamically through the NGV space, overtaking the gallery and environment, evoking a sense of history resurfacing.
The motion-led concept reveals fragments of artefacts, mythologies, and relics beneath shifting layers of gold. It transforms the gallery into an immersive, time-worn experience, bridging ancient narratives with contemporary expression and positioning the NGV as a portal between worlds.
